Former Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan — who is once again running for senator in the upcoming polls — revealed in a Facebook post that his father, Donato Pangilinan Jr., died at 3:50am on Mon, Jan 4. The Pangilinan patriarch was 82 years old.
In his post, Pangilinan cited his father for being “a stern and demanding teacher” and his “staunchest political supporter,” as well as his “harshest critic.”
Pangilinan added: “I don’t think I will ever measure up to being a truly amazing father like you but I will do as best as I can to be one for my children because that was how you raised us. Rest in Peace Daddy. Your loud, domineering, overzealous yet genuinely caring and nurturing presence will be terribly, terribly missed.”
