In a dzMM interview, former Senator Francisco “Kit” Tatad claimed that presidential candidate Senator Grace Poe met with President Noynoy Aquino around a week before the Supreme Court (SC) voted to junk motions for reconsideration (MR) against its ruling upholding Poe’s presidential bid.
“The meeting supposedly took place so that both sides may ‘help each other’ in the upcoming May polls in the wake of administration standard-bearer Mar Roxas’ poor showing in the surveys,” reports ABS-CBN News.
Tatad said the supposed meeting took place in Mr. Aquino’s official residence at Bahay Pangarap inside Malacañang Palace. There, Aquino allegedly said that he was only giving Roxas up to Apr 25 to improve his standing. If not, the administration machinery will rally behind Poe.
The Palace denied that such a meeting took place. Presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda said, “I wish Kit Tatad a long career in fiction writing.”
Tatad, one of four people who filed disqualification cases against Poe, didn’t disclose who had told him about the alleged meeting and what was supposedly discussed by Aquino and Poe.
