Two years after he was charged with rape, he finally got nabbed.
“Former Pantabangan, Nueva Ecija, vice mayor Romeo Borja was recently arrested near a hotel on United Nations Avenue by a team of the Regional Intelligence Unit of the National Capital Region and Manila police Station 5,” reports Francisco Tuyay of Manila Standard Today.
Borja was served warrants of arrest issued by Judge Loreto Alog of RTC Branch 38 of San Jose City, Nueva Ecija. During his term as vice mayor in 2010, Borja was accused of rape by his former employee, whom some reports identify only as “Mina.”
Borja has been turned over to the Pantabangan police.
