Former NBA All-Star Ray Allen visited the Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU) yesterday and shared some tricks of the trade to the school’s basketball team.

“It’s hard when you’re at the top right? Coz you gotta work extra hard,” the former Miami Heat and Boston Celtics player said to the cagers.

LPU’s team the Lyceum Pirates have the best win-loss record in the current National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) season.

Allen reminded them that winning can only be achieved through perseverance. “You don’t win the championship the day they give you the trophy; you win the championship every morning when you get up at 6 in the morning.”

Allen flew to Manila after appearing in a sneaker convention in Hong Kong. It is his first time to visit the city.
