Some birthday celebrants want large birthday cakes and some people want other things.
For his birthday, which was back in June, former Ilocos Sur governor Chavit Singson went on a hunting expedition in South Africa, where he killed a lion. Several months after the incident, the photos of Singson’s lion kill have come to haunt him.
“The photos, which were initially published in June on the website of the Philippine Times of Southern Nevada, show Singson posing beside a male lion and an antelope that he shot at the Kalahari Desert as he celebrated his birthday,” reports ABS-CBNNews.com.
The outrage over Singson’s act is just heating up now. Though the report said that Singson applied for a shooting license before he was able to hunt down animals in the designated area, animal rights advocates have made it clear that they think his birthday kill is just plain cruel.
