Former First Lady Imelda Marcos kept “clueless” about Typhoon Yolanda devastation

When she was a young lass, she was crowned as the “Rose of Tacloban.” Today, her family members are doing their best not to let her know that Tacloban got wrecked by Typhoon Yolanda.

“According to Marcos’ media relations officer Lito Gorospe, she ‘cannot be stressed’ because she has just been discharged from hospital,” reports Kyodo News on ABS-CBNNews.com.

The report went on to quote Gorospe, who said, “You know very well know that Ma’am is very emotional. So, her relatives looking after her tell her that the television set is out of order (to isolate her from the news). She knows about the typhoon, but she doesn’t know the extent of the damage.”

Marcos, who is now a congresswoman of Ilocos Norte, was released from the hospital on Saturday, Nov 9, after being confined for a week due to her “fluctuating blood sugar levels.”

The report explained that Marcos lived in Tacloban City in the 1940s, after her father, Vicente Romualdez, decided to return home following the death of her mother, Remedios Trinidad, in Manila.
