Former beauty queen gunned down in Bulacan

She’s alive but she’s hurt bad.

“Dianne Cervantes, who was crowned as Miss Philippines Fire in the Miss Earth Philippines beauty pageant in 2006, is once again in the news for a completely different reason,” reports ANC.

Cervantes had been part of the winning batch that included Miss Philippines Air Ginger Conejero, who is now with ABS-CBN News. Cervantes, who is now a councilor of Hagonoy, Bulacan, was shot by a gunman near her home in Barangay San Isidro Dos on Tuesday, March 25.

The report explained that “Cervantes had been on board a motorcycle being driven by her staff member Romelita Raymundo. They had just come from a series of activities at the municipal hall right before the shooting happened.”

The gunman initially fired two shots from afar. Then, when he saw that Cervantes and Raymundo had fallen, he went near Cervantes and shot her again.

Cervantes had gunshots in her shoulder and nape. She was rushed to the hospital. Raymundo said the gunman had his helmet on the whole time. He quickly fled the scene.

Police are still investigating the motive for the attempt on Cervantes’ life.
