He fell asleep and then fell to his death.
“At around 11:40pm on Saturday, May 17, Tomas Lagundi, 35, a foreman was allegedly asleep when he fell to his death at a construction site on 720-D Tuazon Street in Quezon City,” reports Francis T. Wakefield in Tempo.
A witness named Edgar Beltran told police that he was also sleeping in the construction site “when he heard a loud thud that prompted him to get up and check.” He saw Lagundi already bloodied.
Beltran and his co-workers then took Lagundi to the hospital, but it was too late. Lagundi died due to a head injury and broken arm from the fall.
Lagundi had been sleeping on a ledge in the unfinished building’s third floor.
