Was he still on vacation mode?

Retired American boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. made members of the Philippine media wait for him for hours yesterday, only to eventually ditch the press conference altogether.

The media reportedly waited for him for more than eight hours at the hotel-casino Resorts World Manila in Parañaque City for an event that was scheduled to start at 3pm, ABS-CBN News reported. According to The Philippine Star,  some were there as early as 2pm

It was announced at around 7pm that he was on his way but by 9pm, the media was informed that he had deviated from his schedule. A representative from Resorts World Manila eventually broke the news at around 11pm that he won’t be showing up. No reason was given for the boxer’s absence.

Perhaps he was still hung over his trip to Boracay?

It looks like he had a great time, based on photos posted on social media. He flew there in style aboard his private jet on Sunday and stayed in the five-star Mövenpick Resort & Spa Boracay — because “Money” Mayweather doesn’t deserve anything less. He also mingled with the locals and shot some hoops in a local strip mall.

Mayweather went back to Manila yesterday for a small meeting with the press in Makati City’s New World Hotel, but even that was all about pampering. He was revealed as the newest endorser of cosmetic surgery center Belo Medical Group and even underwent a facial treatment by celebrity doctor Vicki Belo herself.

Mayweather also had time to shop after getting his Belo treatment, according to tweets from netizens who saw him in the posh Greenbelt mall in Makati City.

According to The Philippine Star Mayweather then headed to the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City to eat, instead of going to the Resorts World Manila presser.

But it wasn’t all bad. According to Rappler, members of the media were treated to free-flowing drinks and food and tickets to a play.
