Business is blooming!

“A day before Valentine’s Day saw flowers being sold for as much as more than double their usual price at Manila’s flower markets,” reports Camille Diola on Philstar.com.

The report noted: “A dozen roses grown locally with earlier price tag of PHP350 are now sold for PHP800 at Sampaloc’s Dangwa Flower Market, known for its cheaper prices for fresh flowers.”

The report went on to point out that “imported flowers, however, are much pricier and affected by port congestion and high demand.”

As such, long-stemmed roses imported from China, meanwhile, have a price tag of PHP1,200 per bouquet. If you must know, its original price was PHP600.
