Nothing will ever bring back the those who had died in the Feb 7 Bontoc bus crash.
“Edgar Renon—the driver of the G.V. Florida Transport bus involved in the February 7 crash in Bontoc that killed 15 people—has been detained at the Mt. Province District Jail,” reports ANC.
Among those who perished in the crash was comedian Arvin “Tado” Jimenez. The death toll was initially at 14.
Renon has been charged with reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide and serious physical injuries. However, he has denied the allegations. He reasoned, “Hindi naman tama iyun. Hindi ko naman sinasadya iyung nangyari, ginawa ko naman lahat (This isn’t right. I didn’t want the accident to happen. I did everything I could to prevent the accident from happening).”
Still, based on the initial findings, authorities srongly suspect that Renon was speeding.
