Flights cancelled, passengers stranded due to ‘Carina’

Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) announced the cancellation of six Philippine Airlines Express (PAL Express) flights on Saturday due to Tropical Depression ‘Carina.’

Cancelled flights are from Calbayog, Catarman, and Masbate with the following details:

2P 2071/2072 (Manila to Calbayog to Manila)
2P 2079/2080 (Manila to Catarman to Manila)
2P 2021/2022 (Manila to Masbate to Manila)

Aside from cancelled flights, the inclement weather also affected seaport operations. According to the Philippine Coast Guard, 2,679 passengers in Bicol and Eastern Visayas are now stranded in ports.

According to PAGASA, ‘Carina’ is expected to make landfall in Aurora by Sunday night or Monday morning. 

Public tropical cyclone warning signal (TCWS) number 1 has been issued in Cagayan, Babuyan Group of Islands, Apayao, Ilocos Norte, Aurora, Catanduanes, Camarines Sur, Albay, Sorsogon, and Northern Samar.

TCWS signal 2 has been raised in Isabela.
