Local authorities found a dead man floating in the Marikina River after a fisherman noticed fish gathering around the body.
According to a Pilipino Star Ngayon report, barangay watchmen from Barangay Santolan in Pasig City recovered the body of an unidentified man over the weekend. The man was found wearing a black shirt and brown pants and authorities say he had been dead for a few days because the body was bloated.
Gilbert Barria, a local fisherman, said he noticed a lot of fish were gathered around something floating in the river. He alerted barangay security when he found out what it was.
The Marikina River is infested with janitor fish, an invasive species.
