His last name translates to the word “mercy”…but he sure didn’t get it from his killers.
“Fish vendor Dante Awa, 37 was shot at close range inside his house in Barangay Commonwealth, Quezon City at around 9am on Thursday, Feb 20, by two still-unidentified suspects,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.
Awa’s neighbors said “the faces of the suspects were covered with handkerchiefs.” They fled the scene on foot.
According to the report, “authorities believe robbery was the motive in the killing, as the relatives of the victims said the PHP20,000 that Awa earned from selling fish at the Commonwealth Market earlier was missing.”
The report also revealed that Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) recovered empty bullet shells from a 9mm pistol and .38 caliber pistol from the scene.
