Will they come in other colors?
“Famous Secret Precision Machining Inc.—a local aerospace components manufacturing firm—has produced the first Filipino-made plane,” reports Camille Diola on Philstar.com.
The report added that “the firm supplies precision machine components to international aircraft manufacturers such as Boeing and Airbus.”
Dennis Chan, the president of the company, said the aircraft was built “completely by Filipinos” in Cavite.
The plane Chan is referring to is RP-S 512, a two-seater light sport aircraft.
In an interview aired on GMA’s 24 Oras Thursday night, July 24, Chan revealed, “We produced two (of the said plane model). One has already been flying in Florida. And the other one has been sold to a customer in Batangas.”
The remaining plane hasn’t been turned over to its owner yet, though. It is currently on exhibit until July 28 at the SMX Convention Center of the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City.
The exhibit is part of the Department of Science and Technology’s celebration of National Science and Technology Week.
The report didn’t disclose the price of the plane.
