It’s a good thing nobody was hurt despite the fact that it took hours before firemen arrived at the scene.
“In the early hours of Friday, November 14, a storage facility of Marswin Marketing Inc. — located along Pearl Island Phase II in Barangay Punturin, Valenzuela City — caught fire,” reports Julliane Love De Jesus on Inquirer.net.
Superintendent Jose Mel Lagan, the Valenzuela City Fire Marshall, revealed, “The fire actually started at 3 a.m. but [reports about] the incident reached our office around 6 a.m. Late na nakapag-responde.”
The report did not say if Lagan explained why the response was so delayed.
Lagan also said that the facility contained mostly paint supplies, which made it difficult to put out the blaze.
The fire was eventually declared under control at 9am. The report said that “the cause of fire and the amount of damages have yet to be determined.”
