Fire hits Taguig, but only a looter got hurt from angry crowd’s attack

Well, somebody got burned…but not in the literal sense.

On Sun night, Nov 6, fire broke out from a house along Champaca Street in Western Bicutan, Taguig City.

“The fire had started from a candle that was left unattended in one of the houses at around 10:17pm. Some PHP1.2 million worth of property went up in smoke in a fire that displaced around 24 families,” reports Jeffrey Tiangco on Journal Online.

The report noted: “No one was reported injured in the fire but a suspected looter was mauled by the angry crowd after he allegedly tried to steal an iPod from one of the fire victims.”

The looter was subsequently charged with theft.
