Fire razed the quarters of a newly-retired Philippine Air Force (PAF) major general in Villamor Air Base in Pasay City on Thu, Sep 17.

According to PAF spokesman Col. Enrico Canaya, the fire broke out at 11:30am and engulfed the entire house of retired Maj. Gen. Edwin Remotigue.

No one was reported hurt in the fire, which was declared under control at around 1pm.

Canaya said the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) is still investigating the cause of the blaze, which reportedly started at the ceiling of the residence.

Remotigue, the former AFP deputy chief of staff for education and training, reached the mandatory retirement age of 56 last Sep 3.
