Fire fighters put out a blaze at the basement floor of broadcast network GMA on late Sunday night. But what was surprising was who came to the station’s rescue. Among the first responders during the emergency was rival ABS-CBN, whose fire truck helped douse the flames at the basement. The fire, which reached the second alarm, seemed to have started from the building’s power station, according to initial information. Power was shut off in the entire building, causing GMA to go off air throughout the night. In its Twitter account, the network said it will try to go back on air “at the soonest possible time.” The Kapuso truck provided assistance to its stiff competition as the flames raged. With their effort, fire fighters handily quelled the blaze which was put out past 11:30pm.
