At around 2am on Wed, Feb 10, fire broke out and damaged a portion of National University in Sampaloc, Manila.
“Initial investigation showed the fire started from the barracks of the janitorial services located at Jocson Memorial Building. Firefighters extinguished the fire that reached second alarm 30 minutes later,” reports ABS-CBN News.
However, one of the firefighters, SFO4 Joseph Jalique, said, “Locker daw yun. Pero ang ipinagtataka namin wala namang source of ignition and electricity roon, how come nagkaroon ng sunog (They said it was a locker. We’re puzzled because there’s no source of ignition and electricity there, and yet a fire broke out.”
Nobody was injured as the barracks was empty during the blaze. Property damage was pegged at PHP50,000.
