Work at several offices in Makati City was interrupted on Thursday morning when fire broke at the 3rd floor of the Equitable PCI Bank Tower on Paseo de Roxas Avenue. Office workers vacated the premises while firefighters put out the fire, which reached first alarm at 10:52 a.m.
Makati City fire marshal Superintendent Ricardo Perdigon said the blaze started at 10:34 a.m. inside the electrical room of the building. Normal operations resumed after the fire was contained. There were no reported casualties or injuries except for one woman who suffered an asthma attack due to the smoke, Inquirer News reported.
