The Philippine News Agency (PNA) can’t catch a break.
Screenshots of what look like articles published on its website have been making the rounds on social media since this afternoon, not because of the stories, but because they were published with editor’s notes.
“Late filing. Please find find new angle. Thanks,” one said.
“Pls reangle awaiting president’s ok on proposal,” another read.
“Focus on link between skin diseases and toxic waste,” one note said.
And of course, Filipinos cannot let it go. Memes and sarcastic comments have naturally sprung up on social media.

Someone also made a parody Twitter account for “Lei,” one of the employees mentioned in an editor’s note.
The PNA website now says it is “under maintenance.”
In August, the PNA used the logo of Dole Food Corporation in an article about the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
They were also criticized on the same month for publishing an editorial from China’s Xinhua News Agency that criticized the United Nations’ South China Sea ruling.
Presidential Communications Secretary Martin Andanar said that Undersecretary Joel Egco, who is in charge of the PNA, will give a statement on the matter.
