The Philippine National Triathlon Team wrapped up its run at this year’s Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) with four podium finishes yesterday.

Both the men’s and women’s teams won gold and silver medals at the Water Sports Complex in Putrajaya, Malaysia.

Nikko Huelgas defended his title and won the gold for the men’s team while John Chicano won the silver.

The 1-2 winners for the women’s team switched places from the 2015 finish. Previous silver medalist, Kim Mangrobang, finished first this year while 2015’s gold medalist, Claire Adorna, followed in second place.

As of yesterday’s last count, the Philippine National Team has won three gold, six silver, and six bronze medals in this year’s SEA Games.

The games end with a closing ceremony scheduled on August 30. The Philippines is set to host the next SEA Games in 2019 with Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano as the chairman of the organizing committee.
