We know that this song is so last year, but you have to see this kid’s video.
Filipino YouTuber Dineson Cañeda was praised by The Chainsmokers for his pen percussion skills, which he demonstrated in his version of the 2016 hit “Don’t Let Me Down.”
Cañeda’s pen drumming was actually pretty fun to watch. He made the sound by hitting pens on a wooden desk. He used his knuckles, too.
Cañeda posted the video last year, but the Chainsmokers only saw it yesterday.
The DJ duo Drew Taggart and Alex Pal shared Cañeda’s video on Facebook, and captioned it, “You work with what you got! Respect this legend.”
To which Cañeda replied, “Thank you very much, Chainsmokers. It really made my dream come true.”
Cañeda has also done other hits such as “My Boo” by Ghost Town DJs, “The Feeling” by Justine Bieber, and “One Call Away” by Charlie Puth. He has has more than 88,000 subscribers on YouTube. The “Don’t Let me Down” video has nearly 5 million views.
