Tragedy struck the Central Harbourfront on Wed as a 27-year-old Filipino worker fell to his death while dismantling one of the rides at the AIA Great European Carnival.

According to the Asia Times, the man fell from a six-meter high working platform. He was declared dead on arrival.

The Great European Carnival was a two-month event that ran from Dec 2016 to Feb 12, 2017. The dismantling work has been suspended until authorities complete their investigations.

In a report by GMA News, Vice Consul Alex Vallespin identified the victim as Norman Canlas Padilla. His brother already flew in from the Middle East to identify his body.

Since Padilla was lawfully employed, repatriation and funeral charges should be shouldered by the company.

The Great European Carnival has yet to release a statement about the incident.
