The performance of the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus (SFMGC) turned into a heartbreaking tragedy as a 39-year-old Filipino member Ryan Nunez died during the intermission of their concert Paradise Found at Herbst Theater in San Francisco Friday night.

According to a report by Balitang America, Nunez “collapsed in one of the risers and suddenly died.”

“Other choir members performed CPR on Nunez until the paramedics team arrived but he died within the hour”

On a statement posted on its Facebook page, SFGMC said that, “Ryan was not only a singer, but was the Administrative Coordinator on the SFGMC staff. He was our voice to the world. Filled with humor and huge hugs for all – he just took care of everyone.

There’s a fundraiser meant to help Ryan’s family with funeral expenses. As of writing, the campaign has already exceeded its USD20,000 goal.
