Ang Probinsyano bit actor Arnold Corpuz was found dead inside his home yesterday in Silang, Cavite.
Authorities said the 38-year-old victim had not been responding to his relatives since Monday, which prompted them to enter his house yesterday afternoon.
Corpuz was found lifeless in his living room with stab wounds in the back, chest, and arm, The Philippine Daily Inquirer reported. He was wearing nothing more than his underwear and socks.
Police said that two cellphones and some jewelry were missing from his home, ABS-CBN News reported.
The same report states that according to his family, Corpuz lived alone but frequently had guests over. There were three alcoholic bottles found on the balcony, an indication that the actor had company before the incident.
Authorities recovered from the crime scene a pair of shears near the body and a knife on the third floor of the victim’s home which could’ve been used as weapons, Inquirer reported.
Corpuz was last seen alive on Sunday buying drinks at a convenience store in Silang where he got off a vehicle, the same report stated. His companions stayed inside the car.
Corpuz played the role of an ambushed mayor in ABS-CBN’s Ang Probinsyano, arguably the biggest show on television right now.
He also played small roles in the same network’s shows Bagani and Be Careful With My Heart.
Police are still investigating the motive behind the killing.
