He’s the same lawmaker who filed a bill against planking back in 2011.
Quezon City 2nd District Representative Winston Castelo has filed House Bill No. 1591 or the “Beige Uniform Paint Color on All Government Buildings Act of 2016.”
“Castelo said the purpose of the bill was to curb elected officials’ ‘pervasive practice’ of using public funds to paint city halls, capitols, bridges and other structures in colors associated with their political leanings,” reports Lira Dalangin-Fernandez on InterAksyon.com.
In his explanatory note for the bill, Castelo pointed out: “Simple economies of scale dictate that it will be significantly advantageous for the government if all buildings or structures built and constructed through public funds have a single, uniform and standard requirements for their protective coatings and official color, which henceforth should be established for common application.”
