Attending to personal matters, Patino missed the first training camp of the year in Bahrain. Last year, he missed both the AFC Challenge Cup and AFF Suzuki Cup “due to club commitments in Thailand and injuries,” notes Celdelf Tupas on Inquirer.net.
“I don’t know what happened to Javier. It looks like he doesn’t want to play for the Philippines,” Doodley was quoted as saying.
The coach adds that Javier should just be clear and make the announcement “so we don’t call him up again.”
Meanwhile, everything seems to be a-okay with Stephan Shrock as the Fil-German coach said “he expects the midfielder to be back on the team before the World Cup Qualifiers start in June.” Two weeks ago, Doodley said he’s accepted Shrock’s apology but that there’s no comeback yet.
