MANILA, Philippines – Filipino-American Mark “Mugen” Striegl will be making his ONE Championship debut when he faces Casey Suire in Manila next month.

Striegl, who grew up in Japan, will be showcasing his highly touted grappling skills when he squares off against the undefeated American in ONE: Valor of Champions at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on April 24.

The 26-year-old fighter is excited to fight in front of his home crowd.

“It’s always a dream of mine to fight in ONE here in Manila and I’ve been to the venue before for the previous live shows,” said Striegl. “The atmosphere is electric.”

Striegl has an impressive professional record of 13-1, with 11 of his victories coming by way of submission. He has signed with ONE Championship late last year after years of fighting in PXC and URCC.

Streigl said he hopes to impress when he makes his debut for ONE.

“There’s pressure in any sport. Mentally in this sport, you have to take it one fight at a time, one day at a time,” he said.

On paper, Suire looks like a newbie with a 5-0 record. But Striegl refused to underestimate his foe.

“All my focus right now is on Casey Suire. I know he’s a tough opponent, he’s undefeated and I’ll be bringing my very best,” he said.

The bout will take place at the bantamweight class.

“Speed and my height are my advantages,” he added.
