Fake slimming pills seized in Sta. Cruz and Carriedo

We didn’t know so many “drug stores” carried these vanity pills.

“On Thursday, Mar 20, the National Bureau of Investigation’s (NBI) Intellectual Property Rights Division and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) raided six drug stores in Sta. Cruz and Carriedo in Manila,” reports ABS-CBN News correspondent Zyann Ambrosio on ABS-CBNnews.com.

According to the report, “the operation yielded fake slimming and body enhancement products from China and Thailand.”

The owners of the drug stores declared that the products passed the product standards in China. But then the authorities reminded them they weren’t in China.

The products have to go through the Bureau of Food and Drugs (BFAD) first.
