Imagine two warehouses full of fake shoes and bags (among other things) worth around PHP800 million.
“Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez was put on the spot on Tuesday, Feb 18, after a raid conducted by Bureau of Customs agents on two family-owned warehouses yielded millions worth of counterfeit goods such as shoes and bags,” reports Jaymee T. Gamil in the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
Olivarez explained that “the warehouses managed by his sister were leased less than a year ago to a company called ZQL Enterprises owned by Richard Gonzales Chang.”
Olivarez was likewise added, “We will not tolerate this. We will cooperate with the proper authorities to get to the bottom of this case and we will let the law take its course.”
