Senators Bongbong Marcos and Senator Grace Poe have been known to joke about the rumor that they are siblings — but it’s a different matter when someone produces a fake document on it.
“Marcos discussed an alleged DNA test result document that was sent to Senate reporters on Monday, January 25,” reports Maila Ager on Inquirer.net.
The report noted: “The document dated November 12, 2015 and with a letterhead DNA Solutions Philippines was addressed to Marcos.” Then, the following words were typed on a small piece of paper attached on the document: “This is Senator Bongbong Marcos’ DNA result. Compare this with that of Senator Grace Poe and you will see that they are related.”

The report went on to reveal that the document itself contains a paragraph, which says: “DNA isolation was carried. Genetic characteristics were determined by PowerPlex 21 PCR Kit. In parallel, positive and negative controls were performed which gave the expected and corrected results.” The document was then supposedly signed by a certain Julie Ludovico, Forensic Scientist 1.
Marcos was quoted as saying, “I laughed when I heard about it. I’ve never had a DNA test.”
As for Poe, all she said was, “Bago pa man ako magkomento kung dapat ikonsidera ang paghahambing, alamin din nila mismo kay Senator Marcos ang authenticity ng pribadong bagay na ito (Before I comment, Let’s ask Senator Marcos if he can verify the authenticity of the document).”
The report recalled: “Found in a church in Iloilo as a baby, Poe was later adopted by the late actor, Fernando Poe Jr., and veteran actress, Susan Roces. Her being a foundling is now one of the subjects of the disqualification cases filed against her. It has been long rumored that Poe was an illegitimate child of Marcos’ father and namesake, the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos, with former actress Rosemarie Sonora, the younger sister of Roces.”
