Atoy Sta. Cruz — director for administration of the Motorcycle Philippine Federation — spoke in behalf of his group’s members and called on the authorities to crack down on those who are selling fake brake fluid.
Sta Cruz related in Filipino, “My companions and I suspected it was fake brake fluid because our brakes weren’t working smoothly.”
Auto repair shop owner Danny Maramba also attested that there are “suppliers” of fake brake fluid. He even presented a sample of the fake brake fluid and compared it to the real thing.
Maramba noted that the fake brake fluid has a more yellow color and is oderless. By contrast, the real brake fluid has a distinct smell and is is paler in color.
Traffic enforcers are asking motorists to make sure that the brake fluid they buy is from a legitimate source. —from a TV Patrol report
