Fake bomb threat disrupts work at Quezon City Hall

Bomb threats (even fake ones) are never funny.

Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista on Thu, Jul 21, ordered security at city hall tightened after several offices received bomb threats shortly after business hours started at 8am.

The bomb threats were reportedly made over the phone to the local city office of the Department of the Interior and Local Government, the Register of Deeds, and the City Civil Registry Department, the Quezon City Public Affairs Office.

The Quezon City Police District’s explosives ordinance disposal teams immediately searched the offices for explosives and cleared them of any threats. Other offices and areas within the city hall compound were also checked.

Nonetheless, Bautista ordered the QCPD City Hall detachment, the Department of Public Order and Safety, as well as the civilian security unit to tighten security.
