The threat was reportedly written on tissue paper.
“At around 2:18pm on Monday, May 19, shoppers at TriNoma Mall in Quezon City, had to be vacated from the mall after a janitress, identified as Heide Villagracia, found a piece of tissue paper in a restroom bowl with words saying that a bomb would go off,” reports Francis T. Wakefield in Tempo.
The exact words on the tissue paper were: “Umuwi na kayo, sasabog ang Trinoma sa loob ng isang oras (Go home, Trinoma will explode within an hour), by concern (sic) citizen.”
Villagracia found the tissue paper on top of a restroom bowl on the mall’s first level. She notified mall security guards of her discovery. They, in turn, called up the QCPD Explosives Ordnance Division (EOD) who promptly arrived at the mall.
After almost one hour of searching, the mall was declared safe by the EOD team after no bomb or explosive device was found.
