But it’s not quite the entire story yet.

“Iglesia Ni Cristo minister Roel Rosal, who was expelled by the Church, told reporters on Thursday, Jul 23, that at least 10 ministers were under ‘house arrest’ inside a building at the INC compound in Tandang Sora, Quezon City,” reports Marc Jayson Cayabyab on Inquirer.net.

Rosal explained that it was supposedly done “to stop thje ministers from blowing the lid off the alleged corruption in the INC.”

Rosal accused INC auditor Jun Santos and his staff of dipping their hands into the “abuloy” (donations) for the INC. He used these words to describe the deed: “Paggasta ng abuloy ng Iglesia sa mga sasakyan nilang maluhong pamumuhay (Spending money given to the Iglesia on the vehicles of luxury).” (Note: We’re not so sure if we got this right.)

Rosal added that INC Executive Minister Eduardo Manalo’s family members were also under house arrest because of supposed family rivalry and “revenge.” The report didn’t elaborate on what that meant.
