Video: MVP Terrence Romeo dirty tactic at DLSU-FEU game

We’ve seen dirty tactics in basketball, all right, especially when stakes are high. But this one should top the list of gross things you’ve seen on court. An Instagram video shows how Season 76 MVP Terrence Romeo tried bothering Jeron Teng who was about to shoot charities at the free throw line when the Archers were staging a comeback late in the third quarter. The Archers snuffed the Tamaraws’ Finals hopes, 71-68, on Wednesday to make its first trip to the Finals in five years.

Romeo appeared to put his right hand on his mouth, walked past at Teng, rubbed his palm against Teng’s right palm and casually walked away. The video was shot by Instagram user @believelasalle. Teng looked bothered after the incident and tried charging at Romeo, who raised his arms as if saying he didn’t know what the sophomore Archer was talking about. Teng shot four free throws at that point, making three charities after burly Tamaraw Gryann Mendoza was called for an unsportsmanlike foul on the Archer. Mendoza charged at a referee, who slapped him with a technical for complaining, sending him to the bench with five fouls. That broke the Tamaraws’ backs, who led throughout the game before the Archers surged to victory. MM
