We all saw this one coming, but nevertheless: massive congratulations, Petron! The Blaze Spikers are the PSL All Filipino conference champs, ending the tournament with a clean 13-0 win-loss card. This is the team’s second straight title, and what Spin.ph calls “a fitting follow-up to their dominance of the import-laced PSL Grand Prix.”
Aby “Beast Mode” Maraño scored the crucial hits in the fourth set bringing the Blaze Spikers to a four-set victory over Shopinas Lady Clickers. She scored a team-high of 18 points, covering for Rachel Ann Daquis, who had to be pulled out at the fourth set due to cramps.
Daquis’ cramps, however, was not a factor as she still scored 16 points before the pull-out. Daquis was also named the Most Valuable Player, scoring 16 points.
The Blaze Spikers earned heaps of individual awards as well: Aby Maraño was named second best middle blocker; Dindin Manabat, best middle blocker and Jen Reyes was named best libero.
