EU lifts ban on Philippine Airlines flights to Europe

Philippine Airlines can start flying direct to the European Union starting July 12, when the EU lifts a ban on local carriers in EU airspace on July 12.

According to reports, the lifting of the ban only applies to PAL flights.

PAL, which thanked the Philippine government for addressing aviation safety concerns raised by the EU, said it is looking forward to flying to London, Paris, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Rome, Madrid.

“When we fly back to Europe after an absence of 15 years, we can boast of a newer fleet of aircraft and top quality customer service,” PAL said in a statement carried over the ABS-CBN News Channel.

Philippine aviation passed an audit by the International Civil Aviation Organization earlier this year, fueling hopes that local carriers would have international flight restrictions lifted.
