Eton Centris issues statement on man hit by falling debris

There were allegedly no signs or yellow tapes warning people about possible falling debris.

“Eugene Tom De Luna, a manager of a business process outsourcing (BPO) company is set to undergo reconstructive surgery after his head was hit by debris that fell from the ceiling of Eton Centris Cyberpod 3 last Sunday, September 14,” reports ANC.

According to De Luna, “he was waiting at the ground floor of the building with his friend when a portion of the ceiling fell.”

De Luna’s friend managed to avoid being hit, but De Luna ended up sustaining a head wound that measured six-by-four centimeters.

Cua was rushed to the hospital. He was later visited by an Eton Centris representative who asked for his medical records. However, he said they didn’t discuss the possibility of financial assistance.

In an official statement Eton Properties Philippines Inc. (EPPI) spokesperson Brian Cua apologized to De Luna.

Cua explained that “immediately after the incident, the affected area was cordoned off to ensure the public’s safety and prevent unauthorized access to the area.”
