Estrada vows: 1 term only

Deposed President, former San Juan Mayor, and now Manila Mayor-elect Joseph Estrada promised his supporters that he will serve for one term only. After which he will turn over the reins to his running mate, re-electionist Isko Moreno.

Estrada, 76, fought a hard battle against a formidable opponent – incumbent Mayor Alfredo Lim. He and Moreno won by a considerable margin, but it was a campaign that was fraught with violence, mudslinging and political gimmickry. Estrada had said that this will be his last term in office – anywhere –  and that he is more concerned with leaving a legacy that his name will be known by, Inquirer News reported.
