Erap wants Bonifacio subjects in college

Dear Erap, sometimes you make a lot of sense…

If a semester in college is devoted to study the life and works of national hero Jose Rizal, why not have the same for the impossibly high-cheekboned Andres Bonifacio?

“Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada proposed college subjects about Katipunan founder Andres Bonifacio and the Philippine revolution,” reports Tempo.

In a speech, Estrada pointed out that such subject will help the youth appreciate Bonifacio’s role in the Philippine Independence movement, and gain a deeper understanding of Manila during the time of the revolution.

He believed that a fresh reminder of Manila’s part in the struggle for independence will propel the Philippine capital back among the ranks of great Asian cities like before.

…and then you don’t.

And of course, what’s an Estrada speech without a dig at his favorite punching bag?

Comparing his life to the Katipunan founder’s, Estrada said he was also a victim of a conspiracy, his was hatched by former president and Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
