Erap says more than 1,000 tourists from China, HK expected in Manila

Grand announcements have always been his thing.

“Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada announced on Wednesday, Oct 30, that more than 1,000 tourists from mainland China and Hong Kong will arrive in the city,” reports Jose Rodel Clapano in The Philippine Star. The report said that, in a phone interview with the newspaper, “Estrada said a cruise ship from China carrying 1,028 tourists would dock at the North Harbor Port today, Oct 31.” Estrada, who said that the visit is “a tie-up between businessman Andrew Tan and Michael Romero,” also promoted the newly inaugurated port. “It will generate more jobs. It is the best seaport in Southeast Asia,” he said.
