Erap assures Manila of full fiscal transparency

Former President Joseph “Erap” Estrada promised Manila residents full transparency in tax use towards urban renewal.

The Manila mayoral candidate also promised to return Manila to its former position as a center of trade and commerce.

Estrada was interviewed on Radyo INQUIRER 990AM, in connection with his platform as candidate for the mayor of Manila.

Estrada also promised that once elected, he will transform Manila to create more jobs and that he will computerize the tax collection system. The former President also cited a Commission on Audit report that Manila has debts of P3.5 billion.

Estrada was ousted from the Presidency due to corruption charges in 2001. He was convicted for plunder in 2007 but was later pardoned by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
