MANILA, Philippines – Rain or Shine will go for a dominating 3-1 lead against Talk ‘N Text when the PBA Commissioner’s Cup finals resume at the Araneta Coliseum on Wednesday.

The Elasto Painters won Game 3, 109-97, their second-straight victory over the Tropang Texters since losing the series opener.

Expected to lead Rain or Shine on Wednesday’s Game 4 is Paul Lee, who despite losing a tooth against import Ivan Johnson, was a major force in that match.

Despite the damage to his front teeth, the Gilas stalwart is still determined to play.

“Kahit ano ang mangyari, I will come back. Gusto kong manalo,” said Lee in the PBA website.

Rain or Shine coach Yeng Guaio marveled at Lee’s determination, even as the player had two more teeth removed because they pushed deeper into his gums after he collided with Johnson’s elbow.

Lee will be playing with a mouth guard for the rest of the series.

“It was a serious injury. It’s just Paul’s heart. His desire to help,” Guiao said. “Paul is crucial for us. If he doesn’t play, we’ll have a hard time to win. It’s tough but doable. But I’m confident that he can play.”

The Elasto Painter’s tactician also said they have contingencies in place for the Texters’ possible adjustments.

“We had anticipated some things they might do [in Game 3]. Pero di nila ipinakita so we just keep our game plan in the warehouse. We’ll probably make use of it based on the kind of defense they will play in Game 4,” said Guiao.
