Irony: Fines are always painful.
“AKH Contractor and Jargon Builders, the two companies behind the ongoing rehabilitation of EDSA, which were supposed to be finished during the Holy Week, were slapped with a PHP25,000 fine over the delay,” reports Niña P. Calleja in Philippine Daily Inquirer.
There’s still around 2,000 square meters of to-be-repaired road space in Mandaluyong and Quezon City.
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) have blamed each other for the delay, as well.
