Earth Hour 2014

Where you at 8:30pm last night?

Coconuts was in Makati, where we watched Rockwell switch off their lights for an hour. According to the World Wide Fund group, more than 150 countries did the same to mark this year’s Earth Hour celebration.

Through Earth Hour, the environmental group aims to raise funds for their projects, which include fiberglass and plastic motorboats for residents of Eastern Visayas’ coastal villages, most of whom lost lives and livelihood from super typhoon Yolanda.

“The Philippines has been one of [Earth Hour’s] strongest supporters, having topped town and city participation levels from 2009 to 2013,” says Earth Hour Philippines national director Gia Ibay. “In light of Typhoon Yolanda, it is now time for Earth Hour to work for us Filipinos.”
