Duty Free tries to help people cope with hellish NAIA heat

A cold drink really helps.

“As passengers continue to complain of the extreme heat at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), Duty Free Philippines (DFP) has put in place a gimmick to help ease their woes,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.

The report revealed that “in support of the Department of Tourism’s campaign to give passengers a warm welcome, the state-owned firm has started giving out ice-cold drinks and hand-held fans to arriving tourists, balikbayans, and OFWs.”

The report noted that the air-conditioning woes are due to the ongoing PHP1.64 billion renovation project at the NAIA.

The Department of Transport and Communications said chillers have already been ordered. However, these will only arrive later this year.
