Change is coming…literally!
If you’re a cab driver and you don’t have loose change, you could lose your freedom.
Incoming President Rodrigo Duterte has warned that cab drivers who will not give exact change to passengers may find themselves charged with estafa.
“Kayong mga cab driver, dapat meron kayong loose change (You cab drivers, you should have loose change),” Duterte said.
Then again, the incoming President isn’t unreasonable.
Trisha Macas of GMA News Online noted: “Duterte also said that the riding public must also estimate how much they need to pay their cab driver before their trip. He likewise asked taxi companies to provide their drivers with enough loose change before they start picking up passengers.”
